Look at this stuff
Isn’t it neat?
Wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete?
Ariel – The Little Mermaid
It should come at no surprise that I love collections of trinkets and treasures. Or “whozits & whatzits” as Ariel would say. I love finding fun treasures from everywhere and combining my discoveries together to create my very own collection. I love layering with different heights and textures. And I also love using things that you wouldn’t expect to use as home decor.
This entry table is in the home of one of my client’s that likes to change things up and refresh things around the house. Sometimes we purchase a few new things but often we just move things around. Take one trinket from one room and move it to another. Sometimes you can get a home refresh just by moving things around. I take it as a challenge to get a new look without spending a lot.
Entry Table Decor:
- Table: Found this for a client at a neat shop in Waco but you can get it from Amazon. It also comes in a white finish and a dark grey finish.
- Glass cloche on wood base: Found this at one of the many antique stores that I visit. (Gatherings in Georgetown being one of my favorites.) Create your own with this base and this glass cloche. Or go for base & glass cloche set: set of 2 from Target // Crate&Barrel option // oval option here // simple option from Amazon in 3 sizes // glass cloche with leather tie from Target
- Vintage books: I always find these at local antique stores but I’ve also been known to make my own. (rip off the covers & soak them in tea. let them dry & then you can tie with twine) But in case you don’t want to hunt the local antique stores you can find a few options from Amazon: one // two // three Target: one // two // three
- Box with lid: Add a pop of color with this box. Silver box. Gold hammered trinket box. Great set of 2 from Amazon – love the mix or wood & metal. Another gold hammered option – from Amazon. I love copper accents so I had to share this copper mercury glass box.
- Tall metal angel: These are actually outdoor decor but they will look great on an entry table or do a collection of them on a buffet or dresser: Here’s a 25.5″ and 32″ option from Amazon. I love this one from At Home.
- Crown Over Mirror: I found this years ago at an antique store. I held on to it because I knew one day I’d find the perfect home for it. I was excited when I spotted this crown at Target.
- Mirror: This actually belonged to the client. A piece she’s had for years but didn’t have the right home for it until we found this table.
- Odds & ends: The other items are just fun pieces that I’ve collected & picked up at different places. The angel wings in the cloche is actually a napkin ring holder. Dried floral pods. Card with a picture of a bird on it. You can find trinkets & treasures everywhere. Sometimes you have to look past an item’s original purpose & see what it can become. For example: This might look like an ornament but put it inside a cloche with other items & suddenly it looks like a treasure.
Make It Your Own:
- Check out these angel wings on a stand from At Home.
- Mirrors options from At Home: One // Two // Three Amazon options: One // Two // Three Target Options: One // Two
- Odds & Ends to decorate with: Check out this cute bird from Amazon. Why not add a rhino to the mix? This marble link has been on my wishlist for a while.
- Trinket box: CB2 is one of my favorite places for home decor. Check out these boxes: one // two // three They have modern but unique pieces.
- Go for more of a modern look with this sculptural piece.
- This speckled egg is just screaming to live inside of a cloche.
