Date Night Look

Can’t stop, won’t stop. I don’t think I’d be exaggerating to say I’m obsessed with this skirt. But what can I say….the quality is good, the cut is good and the price is very reasonable. (Check out the link below because I found it on major sale.) I have this urge to find this skirt in every color and pattern and add to my closet. I’ve styled this skirt several different ways but today I thought I’d go for a date night look. But check out two other ways I styled it here and here.

I wish I could say that I wore this on my last date but alas I did not. Wore it to HEB to go grocery shopping. LOL. Just Kidding. But honestly though what happened to everyone dressing up? People just don’t dress up anymore. It makes me think of the movie A View From The Top (one of my favorites). There’s a scene were Candace Bergen’s character says….people used to dress for travel. And it’s so true. I guess I grew up in a time where you had Sunday Best, but that’s not necessarily a thing anymore.

I think its fun to dress up. Fun to put on your heels and grab a great handbag and head out for a fun event. Maybe it’s the little girl inside of me that wants to play dress-up.

At some point, I’ll wear this look on a date and if not, you might just see me on the aisles of Target filling my basket with things I don’t need. LOL

But let’s get back to talking about this date night look.

The outfit

I love adding texture to my outfit. As someone who often wears neutrals adding texture is a great way to add that little something extra to the look. Texture adds contrast, interest, and dimension to your look.

This top only comes in cream. I got it from Zara, but I recently found a similar one from Nordstrom Rack that also comes in black. And Zara has a different one in black that’s pretty fabulous. Confession: I just added this one to my shopping cart.

zara feather top with red leopard skirt and beaded bag
  • Top: Zara (sadly no longer available). Update 10/14/19 some sizes are back in stock!
  • Skirt: Sanctuary – Everyday Midi Skirt (this skirt in the red leopard is currently on sale at Lord&Taylor…get it before it’s gone)
  • Bag: Forever 21 – (sadly this bag is no longer available but here are a few other options) One // Two // Three This is such a fun bag. It’s a metallic pewter color. I love the mix of the soft girly feather and then the cold metallic beads on the purse.
  • Shoes: Old

So picture this…

The Nordstrom Rack version in black paired with black jeans and a great statement belt. While it looks like an all-black look, walks like an all-black look, it speaks CHIC!

I’m liking the sound of that look. I might just have to get the top & take the pic.

How would you wear a feathery top? Can’t wait to hear about your look.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
