What to Wear…a White Vest

No wardrobe is complete without a serious vest. Vests can run the gamut when it comes to your look — from edgy, to dainty, to chic — they are a necessity in any fashion-minded individual’s closet.

Over the years, vests have been neglected and have fallen to the wayside behind blazers and trousers, but that’s not the case in 2019. Watch out because they are the piece to have to complete any outfit this year. It’s already July so if you don’t have a serious vest in your closet then you are in desperate need for one.

I was minding my own business one day…shopping the summer sale at Zara when I spotted this white vest out of the corner of my eye. It was caught in the chaos of the sale but I have a 6th sense when it comes to shopping (or a black belt as Phyllis Nefler would say), so it didn’t get past me. The closer that I got the more I knew that she needed to be mine. This vest is part of the new collection so you don’t have to worry about them being sold out like these fabulous pleated shorts. So head to your local Zara store or use the link to the website because you are going to want this vest.

Vests are the poised pieces that are going to take over your closet whether you layer it over a day dress, pair with shorts or dress pants, or add to any casual jean look. How will you wear yours?

Today I’m pairing this vest with this fabulous pair of shorts that I snagged at the Zara Summer Sale.

My Look:

  • Vest: Zara – Vest with Pockets.
  • Shorts: Zara (purchased during the Zara Summer Sale. Sadly no longer available). Sharing a few other options I found: one // two // three // four // five Prefer pants here are a few options: one // two // three // four // five // six Not feeling shorts or pants then go for a great skirt. One // Two // Three
  • Bodysuit
  • Shoes: (old) Other options: One // Two // Three
  • Bag: Vintage Chanel. I purchased this years ago from Style Encore. If you’ve never been, I highly recommend finding your local store. The one I go to in North Austin has a lot of designer pieces at great prices. You can also sell items that you no longer love (and they don’t just take designer.)
  • Earrings: I found these beauties at this neat store in Dallas called Flea Style. Flea Style is the cutest shop housing vintage clothes and home decor as well as jewelry by local artists. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Other options: One // Two // Three

Make It Your Own:

Stay tuned to see how else I’m going to wear this serious white vest in 2019.
