Taking a walk on the wild side this summer in this zebra print kaftan dress. I’m not ready to commit to one spirit animal so I’ll be sporting leopard print and zebra print this year. (And whatever other animal print I fall in love with next.)
You can find me at the office in this dress (worn as a duster) or out and about on a Saturday or lounging by the pool. I’m not going to limit it to one occasion. This piece is the perfect addition to your wardrobe because it can be worn in more than one way. Hey, it can be worn more than three ways.
Wear it with jeans or a skirt or over a great sheath dress. But you can also wear it as it was intended…as a dress. Just add a statement belt to complete the look.
Look 1:
- Dress: H&M Kaftan dress. (comes in 3 other colors) This runs big. Keep this in mind when deciding on size. Ultimately it will depend on how you want to wear it but I’m generally a size 6 or 8 at H&M and I bought this kaftan in a size 0. (And I can wear it as a dress and button it up.)
- Bodysuit: I love wearing bodysuits. I feel like they give such a clean look and you don’t have to worry about your top bunching up.
- Pants: Target. Women’s Mid-rise Slim Woven Straight Pants. My initial reason for trying these pants was the fact that the inseam is 25″. 25″ is my magic number when it comes to inseams. Generally speaking, that’s a great length for me so I had to give them a try because I was excited and the thought of not having to have the pants hemmed. I must say that I like these pants way more than I intended and it’s not the fact that they have elastic in the back. These are really comfy and very flattering. And quite a steal at $24.99. P.S. They also come in navy.

Look 2:
- Dress: H&M Kaftan
- Bodysuit
- Shorts: Abercrombie – High Rise Mid-length shorts. By far my favorite denim shorts. I’m not a short shorts girl. I love these because they are high-waisted and have a 4″ inseam which is perfect in my book. I have them in 3 different washes. Some washes are sold out in some sizes but they have plenty of washes to choose from. I feel like I kinda forgot about Abercrombie over the years, but I rediscovered them this summer & I’m so glad that I did because I’ve purchased several great summer pieces.
- Shoes: Seychelles Much Publicized Espadrille Wedge. (TTS) These have been such a fun addition to my summer wardrobe. I didn’t think that I’d like them as much as I do. They are giving my Steve Madden Brandi Sandals a run for their money. They are comfy & give me height. And the metallic detail has a way of elevating any simple casual look.

This kaftan dress is the perfect layering piece for the triple-digit temps in Texas right now. I guess you could say that this kaftan dress is my version of a kimono. I haven’t had luck finding a kimono that’s flattering for me. They are either the wrong shape or length or they are just too boxy for me. So this kaftan dress will take the place of a kimono for me this summer.

Date Night…
Create a great date night look with this kaftan by wearing it with jeans or shorts and your sassy heels. Add that statement clutch to complete the look.
Sunday Funday Look …
Go for a super casual look and wear it with your favorite denim shorts and a graphic tee.

Chic Look…
Add it to a great sheath dress for an office look or a great dinner out/theater look. Just add a great pair of heels. (Maybe in a pop of color.)
