With Easter right around the corner, I wanted to get a jump start and get my table ready for the holiday. Sometimes I tend to procrastinate on getting my table set for upcoming holidays because I’m waiting to be inspired. But I got my inspiration for Easter and I’m here to
Succulents and flowers add such life to home decor, so I decided to let them be part of the centerpiece for my table decor this year. I found this fun wheel barrel to house my succulents and flowers. I wanted to go with something fun and playful and that I could use again.
Before I get ahead of myself…
let me share the main inspiration for this table arrangement. I fell in love with this egg garland from Target and knew that it would be the start to my Easter table decor this year. We know I love a good garland so it’s no surprise that I fell in love with this one. And I was lucky enough to find it in store. The colors are very soft and pastel — perfect for Easter.
It’s fun to decorate your home and table for upcoming holidays but I also want to make sure that I can re-purpose the items that I use. I know I’ll find another use for these burlap place-mats. Found these on Amazon.com so they came at a very reasonable price-point and I’ll be able to use them all year around. The frayed edges just add that extra texture to the arrangement. (I bought the set of 4 but they also sell in a set of 6.)
Next up…
Now that we have our inspiration it’s time to find the remaining parts and pieces….
- Dishes
- Napkins
- Glasses
- Extra flair
I knew that I wanted to keep my table decor fairly simple, but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to complete the look. Sometimes you just have to walk around stores and see what jumps out at you and inspires you.
It was important that I didn’t go full on Easter because as I mentioned before I wanted the majority of what I used to be something I could use again. These were the perfect napkins to complete my vision. They felt Eastery without having bunnies or carrots or something
Now don’t get me wrong…there’s nothing wrong with Themey McThemey. Go for what feels right to you. The theme of your table decor is going to depend some on your personal style and how you celebrate the holiday. If you like color, then go for color. If you like neutrals then go that route. Sometimes its fun to step outside the box but there’s nothing wrong with going what feels right to you.
As I sit here and tell you that I didn’t want to go over-the-top with Easter theme, I have to confess to getting these ceramic bunnies. I couldn’t resist. I felt that I needed to add an Easter element to the arrangement. These are actually salt and pepper shakers, but I thought they were a fun way to add a little bunny rabbit to the mix. They are Threshold, but I couldn’t find them online. I found at my local store in the kitchen section. (They were $5.99.) I also like this one from Target.
Table decor is ultimately about going with what feels right to you. Go with the colors and themes that make you happy. If you want to go full on HOLIDAY then go for it. I guess one of my reasons behind going with reusable stuff was to show that you can achieve a fun holiday-themed table decoration at a reasonable price point. You don’t have to break the bank. It’s possible to use things that you may have around the house. Just put your thinking cap on. (Wood bowls work great for table decor. Vases. Baskets. Decorative bowl.)
What I Used:
- Dishes: Solene Round Set from Target.
- Placemats: Burlap from Amazon.
- Napkins: Floral Fiona Napkins from World Market. World Market has a great selection of napkins right now.
- Glasses: Glass tumbler in pink and clear from Target. These also come in green.
- Candles: Opalhouse candles from Target. Wildberry Poppy and Hibiscus Palm. I bought mine in the store and they had this style in several colors so you can pick whichever color complements your decor the best.
- Garland: Egg garland from Target.
- Bunnies: Threshold salt and pepper shakers. (not online. find in your local store)
- Place cards: From the bargain section at the front of Target. These were $1. They had several Easter options.
- Centerpiece: From the bargain section at the front of Target. This cute wheel barrel was $5. I filled it with succulents and flowers.
Make It Your Own:
- Placemats: I love these round woven ones from World Market.
- Dishes: I love these Chirp, Hop, Crunch, Sweet plates by Rae Dunn. Found these from Amazon, but Homegoods also carries Rae Dunn plates. These would be fun to pair with a solid plate. I saw these small plates at Homegoods today but here they are at Amazon. I don’t how why I think of blush when I think of Easter, but here’s a gorgeous blush option from Target. Here’s a great set from World Market that would be very versatile and you could use year around — change out placemats and napkins to create a new look.
Here are a few combinations I put together:
- Option 1 – Easter napkins: Let these Easter napkins from Amazon be the star of the show. Pair with a simple white plate (Amazon) and simple placemat.
- Option 2 – Hippity Hop napkins: Everyone will
hippity hop over to the table with these napkins from Amazon setting around the table. You can’t help but want to have fun with these napkins. I’d pair them with these fun matte stoneware plates from Amazon. - Option 3 – Floral napkins: These floral napkins would be great for Spring/Summer but still a great Easter option. Pair them with these gorgeous Jade Green plates from World Market. Keep the placemat simple with these burlap ones from Amazon.
- Other garlands: Love this one from Target. It looks like lemons. It would work for Easter but also for Spring/Summer. This pom-pom option has such a fun, youthful vibe to it. Would be cute with the
hippity hop napkins. Go for Easter carrots with this garland from Amazon. How could you resist this Easter bunny garland – another greatoption from Amazon. (Might have to get these napkins if yougo for the bunny garland.) - Note: So many options….not enough tables to decorate.
Made a few tweaks and have a totally different look. This would work for Easter or Spring. Added a navy table runner and switched to vase for the flowers.
How are you going to decorate your table for Easter?
