Tweed Jacket Styled 5 Ways

The tweed jacket – a versatile and sophisticated piece to add to your closet. Today’s post is all about this tweed jacket styled 5 ways.

We can thank Coco Chanel for the tweed jacket. She created her iconic tweed suit back in 1925. She was the Queen of mixing ideas of masculinity and femininity. Chanel was inspired by menswear and believed it to be more comfortable than women’s fashion at the time. Thank you, Chanel, for your innovative thinking!

A tweed jacket like this really is perfect for Texas weather. Our temperatures are unpredictable so this is a great layering piece. And I believe it to be a piece that you can dress up or down. It’s a wardrobe staple in my book.

You can wear this jacket to the office or church but you can also dress it down with jeans. Feeling a little edgier then why not pair them with some faux leather joggers. The options really are endless, but today I’m sharing this tweed jacket styled 5 ways.

Office Bound

Pair this classic black and white houndstooth jacket with your favorite pair of pants for that big meeting or presentation or just another day at the office where you want to dress for the job that you want, not the one you have. With the classic black and white color combo, you can stick with the neutrals and go for an all-black and white look, but you can also add a fun pop of color. Add that pop of color in your top or your shoes.

For my office look, I paired this tweed jacket with my favorite pair of high waisted black pants and this cami with lace trim. You can’t tell but this is more than just a lace cami. It’s a lace cami bodysuit and I am obsessed. This particular one comes in 4 other colors but there are a few other styles. I snagged this black one from Abercrombie during the Black Friday sale. But I did find a few options from Amazon. Check out this one or this one or even this one

Make It Your Own:

You can never go wrong with adding a pop of red to a classic B & W look. Add these heels for your fun pop of color.

Switch out the pants for a classic black pencil skirt or wear it over a black sheath dress.

And you can never go wrong with a tie-neck blouse like this one. It comes in several other colors.

Add a little Edge

Feeling a little edgy? Headed out for date night or girl’s night out? Pair this tweed jacket with a great pair of leather joggers. These are great because they are soft and comfy and the best part is they are machine washable. This has become a big need for me when it comes to buying clothes these days. I just don’t want to deal with dry clean only pieces. Exceptions can be made for hand wash only, but it needs to really catch my eye.

For my look, I paired these joggers with this graphic tee, but there are other options. This ensemble would look great with a simple tank or even the lace cami bodysuit. It just depends on where your calendar takes you. I paired this look with heels to not only add that pop of color but a little sass, but you could also dress it down with some fun fashion sneakers

A Shorts Look

This look isn’t quite complete but it came to me in a vision and I just had to share it as an option. You know how much I love my Zara high waisted black shorts so I knew I just had to create a look with them. My vision: pair these shorts with the tweed jacket and a simple tank and then to make it a little more cold temps appropriate you can finish off the look with tights and boots. You could go with your traditional opaque tights or have a little fun with one of the trends that’s showing up all over Instagram. Pair these shorts with a pair of designer tights and tall boots. (a few other tights options: here // here // here) I actually don’t have a pair of tall boots. I haven’t quite been able to make the commitment yet, but I did find these cute ones from Amazon that really have potential.

Boots are Made for walking

These boots are made for walking…

Grab your favorite pair of jeans, a simple tee, boots and pair them with this tweed jacket for a more relaxed look. Why not add some great jewelry and walk on out the door. Sometimes the simple basics are the best way to go. (My boots have sold out but I got them at Nordstrom Rack which is probably one of my favorite places to buy shoes. They have a great selection in-store and online.)

My Uniform: Jeans, Jacket & Top

A tweed jacket styled 5 ways wouldn’t be complete without sharing it paired with my favorite jeans and heels. I find myself wearing the same 4 pairs of shoes lately and these heels just happen to be one of them. The heel is shorter so they are totally manageable to walk in and the nude color helps elongate my legs (or at least in my eyes they do).

I did decide to go with another black and white color palette but this is also another look that you could add that fun pop of color to. Embrace your feminine side and pair this tweed jacket with this silky pink bodysuit or these blush pink heels.

The beauty of a tweed jacket like this is that it really is a versatile piece. You can wear it in so many other ways. I just wanted to share my tweed jacket styled 5 ways. How would you style this jacket?

Thanks for stopping by. Check back later this week…I’m going to share a recipe for a fun holiday cocktail!
