Yes, it’s another short suit set. Couldn’t find the short suit anywhere for the longest time and now I’ve found more than one girl can wear in a week. But like they say…when you find something you like buy it in every color. So…I’m going for every color and every style of the short suit. But I do think this one is different than the one I featured here.
Granted this one is also a stripe, but it’s a totally different look. But no honestly…it is. The stripe is a totally different color.
I’ll get serious now…This one is a little more oversized and it’s very lightweight. I think this one would be more work appropriate than the one from Target. The shorts are a little longer have a paper bag waist with a belt so you get a totally different look. This set just feels more work appropriate to me.
But this post isn’t just about another short suit set.
While two of the five fab finds do make up the suit, there are three other great finds here.
The Basic White Tee
Every girl needs that basic white tee in her closet. Some may say that you should invest money in this piece because it’s so versatile. Now, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t. All that I can do is speak from experience and say that I purchased a classic white tee from Club Monaco. I tried it on and fell in love. Great fit, soft and nice neckline. What more could a girl ask for? Well…this girl forgot to check the label. Turns out it was hand wash only. So…needless to say this did not become my favorite go-to white tee.
Now, I’ve only had this tee from H&M for about a month but so far I’m loving it. I’m happy with the fit. The neckline is great and I love the weight of it. It just falls nicely on the body. It’s a great length so you can tuck it in or do a half tuck. Right now…it checks all the boxes. (And…it hasn’t lost its shape in the wash which is major to me.)
Necklace
It’s all about layered necklaces right now. And while we can easily build our own layers of necklaces sometimes it’s nice when someone does it for you. Sadly the exact one that I have is no longer available but H&M has a lot of other great choices. I have always felt that a statement necklace can transform a look. Add a great necklace to a t-shirt or graphic tee and suddenly your look is elevated.
Shoes
This may come as a surprise but I was missing a great brown/camel colored heeled sandal in my closet. I ran across these at H&M and I’ve been very happy with them so far. They have a great rich color and this fun ankle tie detail. But, I will say that depending on how long you are on your feet these may not be ideal. They aren’t super uncomfortable but these aren’t wear-all-day-on-your-feet shoes. But they are a great statement shoe. If you are wearing a dress, shorts or ankle pants these are great shoes to make a statement.
My Look:
- Jacket: Linen blend jacket
- Shorts: Sadly the shorts are now sold out. But check your local store because you never know what you might find. (But don’t get discouraged…I have a few alternatives below.)
- T-shirt: Short-sleeved jersey top
- Necklace: Mine is no longer available. But here are a few other options. Multi-strand necklace. Triple-strand necklace.
- Shoes: Sandals. These also come in black.
Other Options:
- H&M: Single-breasted blazer and Wide-cut shorts.
- Anthropologie: Cabana Striped blazer and Cabana High-Rise Striped shorts.
- Mango: (Here’s a great option if you don’t want shorts.) Striped structured blazer and Straight striped trousers.
Side Note:
Let’s talk a minute to talk about H&M sizing. I hadn’t purchased anything from H&M in a while and I’ve found in the past that I have to size up at least one size if not two. Once you know this, you know how to shop and what sizes will work best. Well, it would seem that H&M listened to customer feedback about the sizing issues because they have adjusted their sizes. I feel that they are now more in line with North American standards and other retailers. Items seem to fit a bit more true to size. I ordered this suit online in my regular size and found it to be a little big. I could have definitely sized down. (Well gone with my normal size.)
All I want to point out is that if you haven’t shopped with them recently then you’ll want to double check sizes before purchasing.
On another note: H&M offers 15% off your purchase if you bring in clothes to recycle. I love this. It’s a great way to recycle unwanted clothes and do something good for the environment. And if that’s not enough you get 15% off as well.
