The One & Done Outfit: The Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are the one (comfortable) trend everyone will be wearing in 2019. Let’s take the coordinating a full outfit out of the mix and go with the one and done outfit: the jumpsuit. I don’t know about you but that sounds pretty good to me. No need to figure out does this top go with these bottoms.

And let’s face it a jumpsuit can be comfortable, minimal and perfect for a lot of activities. A jumpsuit can come to the rescue on those days that you want to look chic but you just aren’t feeling it. (Maybe you hit snooze one too many times.) And I think it’s a great alternative to pants & a top or a dress. It’s also an outfit that’s easy to style. Dress a jumpsuit up or down simply by changing your accessories.

Plus, you can easily switch things up from day to night.

My Look:

  • Jumpsuit: Vince (old) but here’s this years version. I got mine at Nordstrom. One thing I loved about this one was it worked for my 5’2″ frame. I didn’t have to have it altered! Woohoo!
  • Shoes: (old) Here’s a similar version from Amazon. Comes in several colors.

Make It Your Own:

  • This faux wrap style jumpsuit is super cute and the beauty of the faux wrap style is that it can be flattering for busty women as well as plus-size. And the tie is a great way to accentuate the smallest part of your waist and show off your curves. That’s the thing I love about jumpsuits…they can flatter all body types. You just have to find the right silhouette for you.
  • Here’s another faux wrap style but without the tie. This one comes in regular and petite length. As well as a similar style in plus-size.
  • I love classic, timeless pieces. This jumpsuit fits the bill for a timeless piece. This is a jumpsuit that you could keep in your closet forever and it will always give you a casual chic look. A simple, solid color jumpsuit like this just screams for fun and fabulous accessories. When you order this jumpsuit in navy, I say add these shoes to the cart.
  • Feeling fun & flirty grab this butterfly printed one from Old Navy.
  • Another classic option that can be dressed up or down. I see camel-colored accessories with this jumpsuit & a fabulous straw hat. These would also look great and be a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe.

Style Tip:

  • Let’s face it the right shoes can make or break an outfit. Now sometimes we have to forget about fashion and go for comfort. But when comfort is not key, pay attention to the line of your shoe. When wearing a dress, skirt or ankle-length jumpsuit or pant you need to avoid straps around the ankle because this can make your leg look shorter. A dark strap will basically just cut you off at the ankle. And I don’t know about you but with my petite frame, I need all the height I can get. A classic nude shoe is always a good choice. A neutral shoe gives you the cleanest line and makes your legs look longer. Now that doesn’t mean that you can’t ever wear a fun shoe with some color…you just need to pay attention to the lines of the shoe with what you are wearing. (I have found that I have to be really careful with black strappy shoes because they just cut me off at the ankle. You’ll see me in lighter color shoes 90% of the time.)

Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.
