Short Suit for Spring

I have been lusting after short suits ever since I saw Blake Lively in that amazing Bottega Veneta purple short suit last year. Of course, at the time I couldn’t find one anywhere. And now…they are EVERYWHERE. Hey, I’m not complaining. Well, my only complaint may be there are too many cute ones out there. However, is a girl to choose?

I’m excited to announce that the short suit for Spring featured today is from Target. Yes, you heard me…Target. I probably would have bought these pieces on their own even if they weren’t part of a suit. I love the ruched sleeves. We already know that I love blazers but what I haven’t mentioned is that I’m weird about sleeve length. I don’t think I have or have ever worn a blazer where I didn’t roll up the sleeves in some way. And it’s not always because the sleeves are too long. LOL. I just like the look and feel of them rolled up.

So, it’s like the designer read my mind when they go with a 3/4 sleeve or ruching because it takes care of it for me.

Feel like I should make a list of all the things that I like about this blazer.

Versatility is important to me. There are always those few items that we convince ourselves that we need even if it’s not versatile. But generally, I like my clothes to be versatile. Now that doesn’t mean that they can’t be fun or statement pieces. It just means that I can mix and match and create a lot of looks with them. This is key.

“What I Like About You”

Pretend that “What I Like About You” by The Romantics is playing right now.

  • Lightweight: This is key in Texas with our temps. But with that being said…we have days where the weather can’t decide what it’s going to be so it’s nice to have a lightweight jacket. If you work in an office that can get chilly, this would be perfect. Some women don’t want to expose their arms. Some don’t like to wear sleeveless so this is a fun Spring wardrobe option.
  • Versatile Pattern: What’s more classic than a khaki and white stripe? I can’t even list all the different ways to wear this ensemble. The options are endless. This is the perfect stripe to pair with another pattern. Pattern mixing can often be intimidating but it doesn’t have to be.
  • Machine Wash
  • 100% made of recycled plastic: How cool is that? I just wanted to see if it was machine wash or hand wash and I read that tidbit. So not only can you be stylish in this jacket but also Eco-friendly.
  • Perfect sleeve length in my opinion
  • The shorts have pockets
  • Great Pricepoint
  • Inseam on shorts: 4″. This may not matter to everyone but it matters to me.

My Look:

Wear it with white jeans…

Wear it with blue jeans & a graphic tee…

Wear it with a simple bodysuit…

Wear it with a fun, statement top…
