It may seem silly but I think it’s fun to decorate your table for the upcoming holiday. Whether you are having people over or it’s just you and your family, it’s fun to get in the spirit of whatever holiday it is. So today let’s talk about how to get your table ready for Cinco de Mayo.
What I Used:
- Napkins: Amazon – Botanical Cactus Plant napkins (set of 6) by GingerPie. (These were the inspiration for my table decor.)
- Sombreros: Amazon – Mini sombreros.
- Plants/Cactus: Target – Cactus plant in a basket. Cactus in cement pot.
- Dishes: The plates are from Crate & Barrel. The orange patterned bowls I actually found in the clearance section at Marshall’s a few weeks ago but here’s a fun set of 6 from Amazon. If you prefer neutrals, here’s a great black & white set. I also love these nut bowls from Anthropologie. These are cute too. (Note: Some dinnerware collections are on sale at Anthropologie right now.)
- Tablecloth: Target – Confetti Print Tablecloth
- Tray: Homegoods. Here’s a great option from Amazon.
I kept my table decor for Cinco de Mayo pretty simple. My big splurge was for the napkins and even then they came with a reasonable price tag. But they were the inspiration for my whole design. It was my goal not to spend a lot of money on this table decor. I wanted to show that often you can work with pieces that you already have. However, it does take a little brainstorming to create the final look.
The plates are my everyday plates. I just got lucky that they worked with the napkins. I did spend a few dollars on the little sombreros. Thought they were a fun way to add that pop of color and be festive.
And that’s a wrap. Keeping it simple.
Check back next week, I share the final look with what I’m cooking for Cinco de Mayo. Sharing some good recipes so check back later.
