Instagram Lately: September Edition

Happy Wednesday! Thought it was time for another Instagram Lately: September Edition post to round-up and share a few outfits I featured on my Instagram but haven’t been on the blog. Wanted to make it a little easier for you to shop these looks!

Look 1:

olive green vest with jeans and leopard belt

One of the best kinds of outfits is the one that just comes together. Those pieces that just find each other as you stand in your closet and wonder what will I wear? When you throw a few pieces together in your closet, you put it on and hope it’ll be cute but then you look in the mirror and you’re like, why did it take me so long to put this together? And you walk out the door with a little more pep in your step because you love your outfit. This is one of those looks.

This is also a look that women of ALL ages and body types can wear. Some may think that the belt will accentuate their waist and possibly show-off that mid-section that we often want to camouflage. Well, this outfit does just that…it accentuates the waist and camouflages the midsection at the same time. Because the vest isn’t form-fitting you can adjust how tight the belt is. This is the look that will give you a waist even if you don’t have one.

  • Olive green Vest: Longchamp (old). This was one of those fab finds. I went to the Longchamp outlet at Woodbury Commons a few years back. They are known for their fabulous bags but there were a few clothing items. This vest was one of them and I was lucky enough that it was in my size. SCORE! A few alternatives: here // here // here.
  • Tank: Evereve – Peyton Jensen – Parker Tunic Tank (comes in another color. If you live in Austin, come visit us at the Domain.)
  • Jeans: Evereve – 7 for All Mankind – High Waist Ankle Skinny with Chewed Hem
  • Shoes: H&M – Sandals in red
  • Bag: Thacker NYC – Chelsea Crossbody bag. You can also get it from Amazon.
  • Belt: Amazon – Double Ring Buckle belt This is quickly becoming that a wardrobe secret weapon. For the price, you should get one!

Look 2:

leopard sweater blazer with jeans

It’s not quite cool enough outside in Texas yet to sport this adorable sweater blazer, but the beauty of this piece is that it’s perfect for Texas. If you are headed to dinner or the movies where the A/C seems to be blowing full blast, this is the perfect piece to keep you warm. Also great for those chilly offices. Wear with jeans or dress pants. And it’s leopard…need I say more?

Look 3:

leopards on skirt with tank and fun accessories
  • Mock neck tank: H&M – ribbed top in white
  • Skirt: Anthropologie (sadly it looks like this one is no longer available) But I found a few other fun, whimsical ones: here // here // here // here
  • Bag: Looks Like Summer – bag And remember code jessicastyle gets you 15% off
  • Shoes: Old Navy – Block heel mules. Here’s another great option.

Look 4:

graphic tee with striped skirt and leopard sneakers and red bag

Note: I wanted to add a note about these sneakers. They are an investment, but they are super comfy. And you can’t deny that they make an the outfit. The perfect way to pattern mix. But I totally understand if you aren’t ready to pull the trigger. There are so many affordable leopard sneaker options out there and you can achieve the same look. It’s about having fun with your outfit and adding that element that is an expression of your personality.

Look 5:

snakeprint bodysuit with jeans
  • Bodysuit: Amazon – Racerback bodysuit. (I’d recommend sizing up. I went with a large in this bodysuit, but I tend to size up in bodysuits because I want to make sure they are long enough and give a little breathing room…just in case they shrink a little.)
  • Jeans: (old). Other button front options: here // here // here.
  • Shoes: Vince Rita Sandal

In case you missed it, here’s the previous Instagram Lately I shared.

Thanks for stopping by! My next Instagram Lately will be a recipe round-up. I know I’ve shared several pictures of what I’m eating but not the recipe that goes with it. I’m working on it! Promise.

  1. […] Stick to the Basics: Not sure you can pull off the busy prints? That’s ok…stick to the basics and go for stripes and dots. A pattern combo that’s always a hit. I also think that you can’t go wrong with stripes and leopard — another personal favorite of mine. Did you see how I combined them here and here? […]
