Palm Prints & Raffia Aren’t Just For Vacations

Botanical & palm prints and natural textures like raffia aren’t just for home design, resort wear and beach vacays. Don’t just save the botanical print you love for wall art or the palm print for your beach cover-up…why not wear it as part of your everyday look.

The streets and stores are filled with floral and animal prints, but let’s take a short break from those and go for a botanical or palm print and mix it with great texture.

Palm print/botanical print is a hot trend for 2019. You can go bold with color or go for a print with more neutral tones. The choice is yours.

I decided to go for a traditional palm print for today’s look. But be as bold as your personality. Wear it from head to toe or wear it as a fun pop of print in your look.

Add Dimension to Your Look…

With bamboo bags…a big trend for 2019. You can find one at just about any price point. Whether you want to save or splurge this trend can be yours.

  • Tortoise jewelry is another trend for 2019. So why not combine tortoise details and bamboo in one bag with this beauty. Use code jessicastyle for 15% off.
  • Here’s a fun option that you can carry 2 ways. Oh, how I love the versatility. Check out this cutie by Topshop.
  • Feel like splurging then grab this one in the Chestnut color.

With raffia…Could raffia be the pom-pom of 2019? Maybe. Raffia isn’t just for beaches and vacays anymore. It’s a material that we are going to be seeing everywhere in 2019. Hippy Modernism is a big trend for 2019 according to Elle and it’s all about adding those raffia pieces to complete this look.

Whether or not you’re going for the Hippy Modernism trend or just a fun summer look add a little raffia to your outfit.

  • These would be the perfect accompaniment to any neutral outfit. And with the reasonable heel, one can only hope they would be just as comfy as they are cute.
  • Want to start small…add a simple raffia earring to your outfit.
  • I ordered these just on a whim and I can not tell you how many times I have already worn them. I wear them at least 3 times a week if not more. They have just been a great finishing touch to several looks. (Oh and I love how lightweight they are. There’s nothing worse than a fabulous earring that’s heavy and ends up being uncomfortable.)
  • Zara has always been one of my favorite shopping destinations. I love their accessories and clothing items. They always have so many fun trendy unique pieces that just elevate your outfit. Check out this bag. It’s all about the mini bag this season.
  • Raffia and pop of color all in one pair of earrings!

How I’m Adding Botanical & Texture to my Summer Looks…

  • Shoes: Stuart Weitzman (old). But I share similar options here.
  • Sweater tank: Aerie. Comes in several colors. I’ve been wearing it with high waisted shorts or jeans and doing a half tuck in the front. But this would look great not tucked in or even with a skirt.
  • Palm print shorts: H&M (sadly it would seem that they are sold out online but check your local store. I just saw them there last week). But here are a few other palm print pieces. Skirt from H&M. (Styling Note: this skirt would look great with the Aerie sweater tank.) Wide-leg pants. These are great for women of all ages. You know I’m loving the cropped wide-leg pant right now. Here’s a fun pair of palm print shorts.
  • Large black bag: Anthropologie. (I got this beauty on sale so unfortunately, it’s no longer available. That always seems to happen.) But I will say that it’s rather large and can overpower my petite frame. So here’s a smaller option that’s very similar & super cute!
  • Sandals: Soludos Raffia Braided Sandal. Here’s another cute pair. These are fabulous!! Here’s an option in black. (You know I love my Steve Madden Bandi Sandals. Check them out in raffia.)
  • Bucket bag: here it is in black. But you can get it in brown, red and white.
  • Headband: Raffia headband. Here’s a less expensive option.
  • Circle woven bag (outfit pic): Zara (last year), but check out this year’s version. Budget-friendly option.
  • Green tank (outfit pic): Old Navy (this is my favorite tank from last year and I’m so excited that they brought it back.)

Make It Your Own…

  • Well hello gorgeous bag. This one is expensive but it’s definitely a show stopper.
  • Here’s a cute option that can be worn two ways. And looks like you can get an additional 25% off sale price.
  • Want to start small? Then add this vibrant palm print headband to your neutral look. This would look great with an all-white look.
  • Add these earrings to complete your look. These are also fun. I kinda wish I had these to go with my shorts.
  • Not feeling the print? Go full-on texture then. Here’s a great sweater tank. Here’s another cute one.
  • You can never go wrong with a great pair of linen pants.
  • Make a statement with this belt. This would look great with a dress like this one. Or this one which just so happens to come in a variety of colors.
  • Want to stay with a neutral color palette…check out this dress.
  • Love this palm print shirt. The hints of blush in it are fabulous.

So…

Whether you want to go bold or not. There are a ton of ways to introduce botanical print & texture into your look. Remember have fun with it! Fashion should be fun. It should be an expression of who you are.

How are you going to introduce this trend into your outfit?
