Beauty Discovery: Milk Makeup

Confession: I’m a bit of a make-up junkie. I love trying new beauty products — I don’t always continue using them, but I sure like testing them. So when a fellow beauty junkie told me about her favorite mascara I was like “tell me more.”

She introduced me to Milk Makeup. I hadn’t heard of it before but was game to try. Especially since they are vegan and use minimal preservatives. So I’m off to Sephora….

Mascara

Milk Kush High Volume Mascara. I feel like this mascara transformed my lashes. On minimal make-up days, I generally just grab mascara and go. This mascara leaves my lashes soft, dynamic and full of volume.

In the past, I find that some mascaras feel hard and flaky on your lashes. Not a fan. This mascara feels soft to the touch when on your lashes. Some days I touch my lashes and have to think back and ask myself if I actually applied mascara.

I’ve also had experience with mascara actually flaky off and then getting trapped in the crevices under your eyes — raccoon eyes, no thank you. I have enough to worry about with the dark circles under my eyes I don’t want to add smudged mascara. Next question…price. Great price point at $24 for tube. They also have it in travel size so you can test it out and see if you like it.

There is a con to this mascara. The brush is very fat. I’ve adjusted to it and it works ok for me because I was blessed with long lashes. However, my poor mom has very short lashes. So she finds the larger brush a little harder to use. But that doesn’t stop her. She uses a small brush to apply this mascara. She loves what it does for her lashes. An extra step for her…yes…but hey we do what we gotta do sometimes.

Brow Gel

I didn’t think that I could like something more than the mascara, but I do. I LOVE LOVE LOVE what this brow gel does for my eyebrows. It really brings them back to life; it gives them such definition. The application is very easy and comes in 3 colors and clear. It really fills them in with a natural look. Brow pencils were my old go-to but since making the change I’ve been very happy with the results. Not only does it fill in my brows but also tames them at the same time. Major plus. Milk’s brow gel is applied with a brush, so it might not work for everyone.

This has become a can’t live without product for me.

Other stuff

I’ve tried several of their other products (lipstick, blur stick, serum) but these are the two that have stood out the most. The mascara and brow gel will remain in my make-up bag for awhile.

I love making beauty discoveries, how about you? What’s your latest beauty find?

Home decor note: The two vases are from Target. Target has all their new home decor on display and can I say…it’s fabulous. I’m very impressed. White vase. Blush/white dot vase.
