Block heels – this is how I’m stepping into Spring

Block heels….I’m a huge fan. I was overjoyed when these joined the shoe market. Someone finally realized that not all women can walk around in stilettos. Some of us want height but also want comfort. I’m 5’2″ so I love a heel that gives me a little height but can still walk around in all day and be comfortable.

Block heels…the best of both worlds

I will be stepping into Spring in block heels in as many colors and prints as I can get my hands on. Block heels come in a variety of heights but I tend to prefer the ones that are 2.5″ and lower. But I do have one or two pairs that’s 3″ which my feet tolerate for their fabulousness. However, I feel like the shorter ones are such that I can wear them all day long which is something I look for in a shoe especially if I’m gonna have to be on my feet all day.

I would have to say that the…

is my favorite. Heel is less than 2″ so once you break these babies in you can wear them all day long. Confession: I have them in 3 colors. They are that fabulous. My favorite pair would have to be the nude pair. I’m embarrassed to say that I have 2 pair of the nude color. The thought has crossed my mind to get a 3rd for back-up. There’s something about a nude shoe. I feel like it elongates the leg. At times, I find that some dark shoes chop me off at my ankle — I have enough problems with my height. I’m not about to chop myself off at the ankle.

It would seem that the block heel trend is here to stay because you can find them everywhere and at every price point. (Target, Old Navy, DSW, Nordstrom)

Make it yours…

  • Old Navy: Here’s a great style that has really low heel and comes in a variety of colors. Leopard is always in style. Add a little pom-pom detail with these cuties.
  • DSW: Looking for a fun print? Check out these blue/white fabric block heels. Bright colors and color-blocking is big right now. Add these to a neutral outfit or go full-on color. Valentino dupe.
  • Nordstrom: Want some height? Steve Madden has you covered with these. Splurge worthy. Spice up any outfit with these polka-dot ones. Make snakeskin your new neutral. Keep it real low.

On my wishlist…

  • I’ve got my eye on these striped ones from Anthropologie. I just think that they’d be super versatile with all the colors in them. They would spice up any neutral outfit. I’m thinking a cute top like this Topshop one or this one with the great button detail down the back and some jeans and I’m good to go. And the heel is under 3″…bonus.
  • Denim top, white jeans and these beauties from Anthropologie. Or this denim top (with sleeves). I’m really liking this linen stripe button-down. I love pattern mixing — like the idea of the animal print with the stripe.
  • Show off your colorful personality with these blue beautiesfrom Nordstrom. Loving these – personality and a buckle detail. I like to wear neutrals and bring personality into my outfit with my shoes and accessories. These from Nordstrom would definitely bring personality to an outfit. Truly inspiring. But sadly they have sold out in my size — just not my destiny.

So many shoes. These are the ones that I’ll be dreaming about and are at the top of my wish list.

Step into Spring in your favorite block heels!
