Searching for the look that will take you from work to after office activities? Today’s post is all about that work-to-bar or work-to-dinner outfit. The key is to mix pieces that are both conservative and edgy. When putting together your look, pick pieces that are both professional and fun and that can be easily layered for a quick change when you are headed out after work.
Select pieces that are not only timeless but also versatile. They can be easily transformed with a few alterations to your accessories. Add that statement bag or statement pair of earrings. Change into a great pair of heels that say I’m ready for a fun night.
I fell in love with this one-shoulder top at the Zara sale, but it’s not exactly office appropriate so I was determined to find a way to make it work for an office look. I knew it would transition nicely into a fun look for any after office activities that might come up after a hard day at the office.
Office Look:
- Top: Zara – Blue one-shoulder top. No blazer required with this top. Here’s another great option.
- Blazer: H&M (sold out, but see it and other options in this post). But here’s a similar option. This blazer is classic and will be great for summer.
- Shorts: Zara (old). Not everyone can wear shorts to work even if they are a little longer. These are great pants that will take you from work to after office activities. Prefer pants here are a few options: high rise pants, paper bag waist pants, high-waisted sash tie ankle pants, high waisted culottes (these would be great for showing off your after office shoes).
- Shoes: Vince Rita sandals
I ditched my blazer, changed my shoes and added a great pair of statement earrings and a statement bag and my office look has a new attitude.
After Office Activities Look:
- Top: Zara (got during their big sale this past month so it sold out fast) But here’s one with similar vibes. This top will look great under a blazer and make a statement on its own. You can never go wrong with a tie-neck top. You’ll be all smiles in this dandelion one-shoulder blouse that also comes in two other colors.
- Shorts: Zara (old, but here’s the same style in a different color.) Here’s a fun pair of black shorts with a tie waist. If you prefer a bermuda style/length, then here’s a great pair for you.
- Shoes: Rachel Zoe Heels (these are so old. I bought them at Nordstrom Rack years ago. They are some of my favorite heels. Despite the heel height these are crazy comfy.) These are a totally different style but they definitely make a statement. If you don’t want to go with an insane heel then, check out these block heels with great scallop detail. Here’s another option with a reasonable heel. I’m loving these. Snakeskin is going to be big this fall so grab these black ones with a snakeskin heel.
- Purse: Kate Spade book clutch (old) – This one is hard to find but here are a few other fun options. I loved the idea of mixing the blue and yellow with this look so here’s a fun yellow clutch option. This one also has a ton of personality. Book clutch option here. Marble effect box bag. Topshop is always one of my go-to’s for fun affordable handbags. They have so many fun styles.
Channel your multitasker attitude into your wardrobe and make your office look ready for any after office activities that steal a spot on your schedule. Leave those outfit woes behind and add that perfect statement bag or shoe to your look.
Have fun at happy hour or wherever your schedule takes you!
You literally rock those outfits, girl!! Love this post!
