Floral can take you far in your Spring/Summer wardrobe. It’s great for a wedding, a simple brunch or date night. Add a jean jacket to make it more casual or add a heel and a clutch for a great evening out look. The options are endless. Today, I’m sharing how I styled my cropped floral pants 4 ways.
You may remember these cropped pants from my look for less post here. I may sound like a broken record but I think building a wardrobe with mix and match versatile pieces is key. Every girl needs those dress up or dress down pieces in her closet.
In all of my looks, I went for a neutral top to give the eye a break from the busy leg. But that’s not to say you can’t add a print. You could pair a simple stripe with floral pants or a graphic tee. Graphic tees, especially vintage band ones, are everywhere right now and would be a fun addition to cropped floral pants. It just depends on how bold you want to be.
Look 1:
Summer wedding coming up? This would be a great look. Date night? You are all set for a fun evening out. Check out this look here and find all the details.
Look 2:
This look gives me total vacay vibes. I feel like this look would be great for a cruise vacation or a beach resort. Or it could work for a simple weekend brunch. (Or lose the hat and wear it to work.)
- Pants: Nordstrom Rack – Melloday – Cropped Wide Leg Pants
- Jacket/Shirt: Abercrombie – Utility Shirt also comes in a rust-red color. (currently on sale!)
- Target: Women’s A New Day Tank
- Shoes: Steve Madden – Bandi Sandals in blush
- Hat: (Old – borrowed from my mom) but here’s a great one from Amazon.
Look 3:
Great casual look!
- Pants: Nordstrom Rack – Melloday – Cropped Wide Leg Pants
- Denim Jacket: J.Crew (old) Look here for some great alternatives.
- Shoes: J/Slides – Kayla Slip-on Sneaker you can also get them from Evereve and they are currently on sale!
- Bag: Forever 21 (sold out) but here’s a similar one (the Esme bucket bag) that I just got and I’m very excited about. (Oh…it has a crossbody strap too.) Use code jessicastyle for 15% off.
Look 4:
This look is so versatile you could wear it more than one place. Work, dinner out, church, brunch…
Maybe the long duster isn’t the look for you. Ditch the duster and add a great lightweight white blazer. I just snatched this one up from Old Navy. It’s extremely lightweight and has a classic silhouette.
- Pants: Nordstrom Rack – Melloday – Cropped Wide Leg Pants
- Tank: Target – A New Day Tank
- Duster Cardigan: Free People – Skinny Midi Cardi. Get it here and here in white & 3 other colors and here in 5 colors.
- Shoes: Target – A New Day Block Heels
- Bag: Abercrombie (sold out) but here’s a similar one. Here’s another fun option. (Use code jessicastyle for 15% off)
Printed pants are huge for Spring/Summer but maybe floral isn’t the print for you…that’s ok…trade in floral for another print. Animal print is another print that’s big this season. Here’s a fun leopard print pair. Another great option that I’m wild about. Merge two trends with these beauties…cropped and flare. Swoon! Or go for a stripe.
Make it Your Own:
- Floral pants: Here’s a great option from Target with a darker background. Embrace yellow in these – they come in regular and petite. I could see pairing a stripe or polka dot with these pants. (currently on sale). This style from Kohl’s comes in 2 prints and 3 solids. The price is right for this style from Amazon that comes in 31 options.
- Tank: Target and Old Navy are both great places to get tanks. I love tanks and bodysuits as a layering piece. This was my favorite Old Navy tank from last year and I’m so excited that it’s back. I just bought it in 4 colors. I was able to get it in a black/white stripe in the store.
- 2nd Layer: This vest would look great with cropped pants or jeans for that matter. A vest like this is a great layering piece for the summer. It’s lightweight but it allows you to add that little bit extra to a look. Add a fabulous vest to complete your look and create an effortlessly chic look. This shorter moto-inspired vest would also look fabulous.
- Tops: Here’s a fun top from Loft that would look great with cropped pants. Feel like going with a simple tee…well here’s an option with a flutter sleeve…it adds a little detail to your look. Another great top from Loft. We are seeing a tone of tie-front tops in stores right now…pair this one with your cropped pants.
How are you going to style your cropped pants for Spring/Summer? Oh…and P.S. get used to florals because you’ll see them into the fall as well.
