Look For Less: Cropped floral pants

Do you ever just fall in love with a look or an outfit somewhere? And all you can think is I want it, I need it, I have to have it. And then you look at the price tag and that smile suddenly turns into a frown. This happens to me often. Especially when I’m in high-end stores or looking online at places that I shouldn’t. I often fall in love with a look and love it so much that I’m determined to recreate it, but at a reasonable price point.

Honestly, sometimes it becomes this challenge that I won’t let get the better of me. This puzzle that I have to solve.

So today, I’m sharing a look that I fell in love with while I was strolling through Nordstrom the other day. I fell in love with the look, but then looked at the price tag. Some things are worth the splurge but I knew for me these pants would be something that I would wear for the Spring and Summer and that’s about it. I knew that they were not going to be a staple in my closet, so I just couldn’t bring myself to spend the $178. So I left the store without the outfit but with a picture of it and a mission.

Mission: Recreate this look

And so the search begins…

My search lead me down multiple paths and I was starting to think that I wasn’t going to find anything and then suddenly…

I found the twin sister to the pants I coveted.

My search came to an end at Nordstrom Rack when I found these beauties. Pretty good replacement, don’t you think? I thought so. And I was lucky enough to get them in petite which excited me even more. They have sold out of petite sizes but you can still get them in regular.

I was beyond thrilled when I found a replacement for less than $30. And the ones from Nordstrom Rack are hand wash. Granted it would be better if they were machine wash but I’ll take hand wash over dry clean any day especially when it comes to Summer pieces. Texas heat and dry clean only are just not a good match.

Next up, I needed to find a top to go with them. The top that was with them at Nordstrom was a statement top so I felt that I needed a top that made a statement. And I could splurge a little because I got such a good deal on the pants, right?

Part 2 of my search begins…

Since Nordstrom Rack had saved the day with the pants, I decided to see what they had to offer in regards to tops. I saw this one and decided to give it a try. I thought it was pretty and had potential but honestly, I did not realize it’s full potential until it arrived and tried it on. This top is fabulous! (I ordered it in the snow color but it also comes in shell.)

And suddenly, just like that my look for less was complete. I was beyond happy with the end result. The detail on this shirt is fabulous. It’s just so different and feminine. I absolutely love it!

My Look:

Check back later. I’m going to share multiple ways to wear these floral cropped pants. (Causal and dressy)

Let me know if there’s a look or an item that you fell in love with but did not love the price tag. I’ll see if I can find a worthy replacement!
