Midi Skirt & Moto

Happy Friday! Well, the cooler temps are back in Austin so it’s time to pull out a midi skirt & moto jacket. Hello Moto!

When temps start to cool down, you don’t have to look far to see a girl sporting a leather jacket of some sort. With their edgy vibes and timeless allure, leather jackets are the ruling monarchs of the outerwear world. But heads-up the puffer and faux fur jackets are going to give them a run for their money. I haven’t decided yet if I will embrace either of these trends but never say never.

Let’s talk about this midi skirt & moto jacket look that I’m sporting.

Do you see my new friends in the background? We coordinated our outfits.
  • Skirt: Walmart – Love Sadie midi skirt
  • T-shirt: Amazon – Bing T-shirt (The original Bing tee retails for $99. It’s sold out but this one is a great dupe.)
  • Sneakers: P448 – John Leopard sneakers
  • Jacket: IRO leather jacket (old) I wasn’t able to find this one but I’m gonna share some great deals below.
  • Bag: Amazon – Steve Madden bag (I had a little fun with paint and added a little something extra to this bag. I was inspired by the Carrie bag from The Carrie Diaries.)

Confessions of a Shopaholic:

I would consider myself a fashion finder. I love searching the racks and the internet for those fabulous pieces and I love it, even more, when I can get those pieces for a good price. Some may say that I have a sixth sense for finding those great pieces at stores. I’m not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. Those that shop with me may not always appreciate it when I bring a pile of some of those fabulous finds. And when I say fab find sometimes they are great deals and sometimes they are still great deals but with a designer tag.

This jacket was one of my designer fab finds. I found this at the end of last year. My mom and I ran into Off Saks to see if there were any great new pieces that we couldn’t live without. When you go into these stores (Nordstrom Rack, Off Saks, Last Call) it’s hit or miss. You never know what kind of luck you’ll have. And it all depends on the day and if you are up for the challenge of digging through the racks.

I’m fortunate enough to have this sense of where the goodies are hiding. Did you see my post on the Veronica Beard top that I got for $39? This IRO leather jacket is one of those pieces that I got really lucky on. It was the only one sitting all by itself on a rack and it just so happened to be in my size. It was actually on a rack that wasn’t even the right section. You gotta always be on the lookout. You never know where goodies are hiding.

Sometimes they are at Nordstrom Rack or Off Saks but sometimes they can be found at Target or Old Navy and of course there’s always Amazon.

Where do you go hunting for your fab finds?

Fab Finds:

Here are a few pieces that I recently found online. Often the best deals can be found at the store. For example, I was at Nordstrom Rack yesterday and I found a pair of Good American jeans (in my size) marked down to $49.97. They retail for over $150. I was so excited because it was just the style that I was looking for. But it was hiding in a sea of jeans in the clearance section.

Sometimes you just gotta dig.

But I’ll save you from digging and share a few pieces I found online that you can easily add to your shopping cart and be on your way.

Jackets I found…

Add that fun pop of color to your look with this fun blue leather jacket. Go for a classic faux suede jacket by Vigoss with this one that’s also an additional 30% off. BLANKNYC never lets me down with its jackets. I love this one with gold hardware. Looking to add a little texture to your look. Check out this one from Last Call that comes in two colors & it’s 75% off the original price. Now that’s a deal.

Years ago I bought a fabulous leather jacket from H&M. It’s still in my closet and a timeless piece. The quality was amazing & the leather was as soft as butter. I just spotted this one from H&M and if it’s anything like mine you won’t regret purchasing it.

Leather Jackets: I spotted a few on Amazon for less than $100 that got good reviews.

One // Two // Three

A few other goodies…

  • Clutch: You may have seen this fabulous clutch on runways, Instagram or magazines if anyone actually looks at magazines anymore. Well, the original is by Bottega Veneta & it costs $2700. Ouch, that’s gonna hurt. But check out this dupe from Amazon. Looks good to me!
  • Crossbody: I know you’ve seen the fabulous Chloe Nile Bracelet Bag. It’s gorgeous but it comes at a price. $1790. Ouch. Dear Santa…. But you have to see the dupe I found on amazon.
