You might be having a real deja vu moment right now. And you’re right for feeling that way as you’ve seen this vest a few times before. But for me the… vest: the ultimate layering piece.
If you’ve been here before then you remember that I sported this white vest here, here, here oh and here. If you are new, then you’ll soon realize that I’m all about those great pieces that I can mix and match and wear multiple ways.
My Look:
This look is perfect for those occasions that you want to look polished. Wear this look to the office, to church or out to dinner with friends. The leopard midi skirt is a great way to embrace the latest trend but the vest elevates the look and adds a touch of chic to it. A polished look doesn’t mean you can’t have fun and add a fun pop of color (like I did with my shoes).
- Vest: Zara – Vest with pockets
- Skirt: Sanctuary – Everyday Midi Skirt
- Shoes: Old Navy – Faux-Suede Block-Heel Mules for Women. Here’s another great option from Target.
- Bag: (old) Vintage Chanel. Here’s a great one.
For some of you, you might be feeling that vests are intimidating or that vests aren’t for you. And they can be but it’s just a matter of finding the one that’s right for you. But I know with all the choices out there it’s just a matter of a try-on session to find the right one for your silhouette.
Vests, Vests and More Vests
Here are a few that you’ll be seeing a lot of:
- Cropped Vest
- Exotic or printed Vest
- Wearing a vest as a Top. Another great option here.
- Oversized Black Vest
- Denim Vest
- Longline Vest
- Faux Fur Vest. Another great option from Nordstrom here.
What it really boils down to is finding the right vest for your body type. Because let’s face it if it’s wrong then it’s just wrong and you look out-of-proportion and it looks like you are wearing this unnecessary & fussy item of clothing. It can also make you look bigger. Which I don’t believe is what any of us are trying to achieve when we get dressed in the morning. At least, I’m not.
But when do you find the right vest for you it’s a great feeling. You have suddenly found that cool and creative layering piece that you will find yourself reaching for time and time again.
Make It Your Own:
So today I thought I’d try something different. Let me know what you think and if this is something that you’d like to see more of.
What’s your Body Type?
- Oval: You always want to accentuate your legs and chest. So go for V-necks & structured jackets. So here are a few vests that would be great for you. One // Two // Three // Four
- Rectangle: You are going to want to create a waistline so v-necks are also going to work for you, but you want to go for pieces that are going to be more waist-defining. Fitted jackets will work well for you. Vests for you: One // Two // Three
- Hourglass: Girl, highlight your waist! One // Two // Three
- Triangle: You’ll want to find pieces that accentuate your upper body and define your waist. Higher necklines and v-necks are going to be great for you. Grab a cute short jacket. One // Two // Three // Four
- Inverted Triangle: Let’s add some curves to your bottom half! Asymmetrical tops are going to be great for you. One // Two // Three
This vest is great for all body types!
Happy shopping ladies! I hope you find the perfect vest for your body type and your lifestyle! Till next time friends…
